A news release from the Midland Police Department details a crash that occurred on Tuesday, June 9, on Scharbauer Road near Edwards Street. Midland police officers and firefighters responded to a call that came into dispatchers in the middle of the evening.
According to the report, a Ford Mustang was westbound on Scharbauer Road when the driver allegedly lost control of the vehicle. Investigators believe that the Mustang entered the draw before rolling several times.
Passenger Does Not Survive
The 32-year-old male motorist from Midland sustained minor injuries in the rollover wreck. It was not necessary to transport him to the hospital, according to the Odessa American. However, his 28-year-old male passenger, also from Midland, did not survive the crash. The press release states that he was pronounced dead at the scene at approximately 8:15 p.m. Early reports did not suggest whether seat belts were in use at the time of the accident.
Although the investigation into this crash is ongoing, those injured, or survivors of those killed in accidents resulting from negligent conduct do have legal rights.
